Mr. Stephen Chbosky’s novel “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”
marks malls and search engine results even if it has not yet
been released. Emma Watson’s face caught my
attention at first glance on it aside from the apple green
background. Recently I saw it being sold on a bookstore even
on online stores. What’s up with it? It’s not as “popular” as
Twilight and Harry Potter but even before it premieres it’s
already making a buzz around the media.
Maybe looking at its trailer, some articles about it, and its
summary plot from IMDB will answer my query. Oh, I just
found on wiki that
Summary:
It is about 15-year-old Charlie, an endearing and naive outsider, coping with first love Sam, the suicide
of his best friend, and his own mental illness while struggling to find a group of people with whom he
belongs. The introvert freshman is taken under the wings of two seniors, Sam and her step-brother
Patrick, who welcome him to the real world –new experiences, new friends, music, and drugs.
Have you guys seen the movie yet? I’m have the book copy but I haven’t bothered to read it. They say it has a good quality of writing but I don’t know. Check out Lazada’s selection of books!
